The Music Conservatory of Westchester is an exciting and inspiring place to become an active participant in the world of music. Nationally recognized for its comprehensive, high-quality music instruction programs, the Conservatory is one of only 18 non-degree granting institutions nationwide to be accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music. Its doors are open to everyone: its students range in age from 6 months old to 94 years old and represent more than 30 different nationalities.
In 1999, the Conservatory's celebrated its 70th anniversary, making it the oldest professional performing arts organization in Westchester County. The Conservatory is extremely proud of its service to the 5-county region, and excited to welcome you to its wonderful new facility and introduce you to its outstanding, caring faculty.
In January 2001, it opened the doors to its new home at 216 Central Avenue, White Plains. The facility is unique to Westchester County and a place where every member of the community is welcome. This spacious, state-of-the-art facility serves area families as a center for performing arts instruction, a single, centralized gathering place that fulfills the need for high-quality arts progamming in the region.
In this premier venue, the Conservatory offers you comprehensive programs in music instruction, musical theater, drama, and music therapy. Dance instruction is held in the facility's two deluxe dance studios. Its new building is home to a professional, acoustically designed Recital Hall in which the Conservatory offers recitals, family performances, jazz cabarets and jam sessions, and public lectures. The Recital Hall is also used by other non-profit organizations that benefit from the Hall's intimacy and central location.
